3 Steps to Increase Your Focus and Productivity in 2021

Recently I’ve been obsessed with increasing my productivity, and I’ve learned that it’s a fairly popular hobby among college students, founders, CEOs, and many others. Attacking productivity as a whole, however, is akin to cutting the lawn with a pair of nail clippers; definitely possible, but mostly a huge waste of time and effort. The reason that people do not feel as productive as they think they can be is that they usually waste a lot of time trying to optimize their schedule, routine, and workspace, among other things.

The real reason people aren’t working as hard as they can be is that they cannot focus for long periods of time without wanting to switch to doing something more enjoyable.

Here’s a scenario that might seem familiar. You’re sitting at your desk, working on an essay for class. You have a few tabs open on Chrome with your sources and text document, but you also have Reddit/Twitter/Medium open. Personally, I’ll be able to work on my essay for a while, maybe get a couple of good paragraphs in, but then I’ll automatically click on my Reddit tab and start scrolling.

The problem here does not lie in Reddit using machine learning or algorithms to grab my attention away from my essay with notifications or anything like that. The true issue here is that I am unable to focus for long…
