On Hustle and Happiness

I know you’re unhappy. I know you try as hard as you can to achieve your goals, but it feels like you’re getting nowhere. No matter how many scheduling, sleeping, and productivity techniques you apply, you aren’t any happier with your work.

Consider this a wake up call. I’m gonna tell you how you can start making actual progress, and how you can feel better about what you do on a daily basis. Let’s get started.

Your biggest problem is comparing yourself to others.

What I mean by this isn’t what you might suspect. Many productivity “gurus” and influencers say that scrolling through Instagram and comparing yourself to Kylie Jenner is going to stop any progress dead in its tracks. While this is true, I'm talking about a different kind of comparison.

I used to constantly think of myself as the next entrepreneur that is idolized by the media. Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, you get the idea. What I didn’t realize is that these people didn’t achieve success by following a roadmap set by someone else.

They achieved success by doing everything they could physically handle in order to succeed.

Elon Musk almost went bankrupt trying to save Tesla, SpaceX, and SolarCity. He literally had to borrow money from his friends so that he could pay rent…
